Nokia Siemens Networks / Vodafone Hutchison Australia
By this stage, Nokia Siemens Networks had been announced as the winner of the Managed Services contract with the newly formed entity Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA).
NSN were of course the incumbent for Vodafone and Ericsson were the incumbent for 3 Hutchison. Once NSN was announced as the winner, this project was required to transition the Ericsson managed 3Hutch network and tools in their entirety, into the newly formed VHA organisation to bring these collectively under NSN management. Of course the existing NSN tools set used previously for Vodafone would remain so this is both a Transition project as well as Transformation.
This includes the Facilities Stream but most focus is on the OSS Tools and infrastructure required by NSN NOC for network management and operations of the VHA network.
To do this, a proprietary Citrix (XenApp5) environment was created for interim connectivity between the two organisations whilst a final solution was built on a Regional Interconnect Network (RIN).
Infrastructure components include Nokia firewall, Citrix Servers and Cisco switches.
